The Canon imagePROGRAF TZ-30000 is a large-format CAD printer designed for the manufacturing and construction industries. The MFP model also has a 36-inch precision feed scanner and a 15.6-inch display for control. It allows users to print drawings and posters in bulk. This printer can process up to 100 sheets of single paper in formats up to A0 (84.1 × 118.9 cm) or rolls up to 36 inches. Canon designed the series for production volumes of between 300 and 500 square meters per month. Consumables are five individual ink cartridges with pigmented Lucia TD ink and a capacity of either 700 ml (PFI-740 series) or 330 ml (PFI-340 series). The PF-06 print head and the MC-30 maintenance kit (remaining ink container) are available as additional consumables. The printing mechanism was based on a movable print head with over 15,360 nozzles for matte black, 5,120 nozzles for photo black and 2,560 nozzles each for the three primary colours. The native resolution is 1,200 dpi, where all nozzles are redundant: if one fails, the “spare nozzle” jumps in. Effectively, at most half the number of available nozzles is used. Along with a top exit area and space-saving performance, it comes with a robust notification function for ink and media roll information. Using a two-roll system, this Canon imagePROGRAF TZ-30000 printer implements the industry’s first continuous roll paper replacement system. This contributes to an efficient design output environment.
