The Canon MAXIFY GX7060 proves to be a powerful ink tank multifunction printer for small offices and home offices. This is the first ink tank multifunction printer from the Maxify series, With this series, Canon is expanding its range of multifunctional printers with ink tanks to include a patented office model. It meets the requirements of several users and is a convincing alternative to a color laser multifunction device in the home office, but also in the small office. The individual ink bottles each have a specific filler neck so that you cannot mix up the colors when filling them. The bottles also have a drip-stop and an automatic filling mechanism. This way, the filling succeeds without drops of ink and with an automatic end – very well solved. The two cassettes can be filled with a maximum of 500 sheets (2 x 250). There is also a rear paper feed that can hold an additional 100 sheets of normal paper or is optionally suitable for envelopes, photo paper, or labels. The manufacturer specifies a speed of 24 black and white and 15.5 color A4 pages per minute for the printing unit of the printer (based on the ISO standard). The scanner also sets the pace, and its time values are remarkably fast: the A4 preview lasts six seconds in the test, and the A4 color scan is just two seconds longer. With these specifications, it is also clear that the copies in the test are done quickly – the black and white copy in 11 seconds, the color copy in 15 seconds. The Canon MAXIFY GX7060 cannot print borderless photos. As a rule, however, this is of secondary importance in-office use. The important services there, such as text printing, are carried out by the multi-function tank printer with good black coverage and only slightly rough letter edges, which, however, are only noticeable when looking through the magnifying glass. The colors tend to be a bit darker and colder than dye-based inks due to the pigment inks. Nevertheless, they create a harmonious color image. The driver installation is also not a problem, because the manufacturer covers not only common operating systems such as Windows 10 or macOS but also rarer versions such as Windows 10 S or ChromeOS with the Canon MAXIFY GX7060.
