The Canon imagePROGRAF TA-20 printer is a versatile device that is suitable for both the home and the office. Five ink cartridges are used – 3 color cartridges for CYM and one cartridge each for matt and glossy paper. The permanent and largely smudge-proof pigment ink (“Lucia TD”) is available in 55 ml cartridges. The comparatively bulky printer feels particularly comfortable when loaded with roll paper. 2 or 3-inch spindles with an outer diameter of up to 15 cm can be accommodated – no one else in the class can do that. On the other hand, there is a limit to the maximum banner length – it ends after around 18 meters. The Imageprograf is less flexible with single sheets. These can generally only be threaded in one after the other. In contrast to the roll paper with an A1-equivalent length, only A4, A3 or A2 media can be fed in the “single sheet” mode. A stack feeder is not available as a standard or as an option. The (non-rigid) paper path can process paper with a lavish thickness of up to 0.8 mm – even without a print border. The “Air Feeding System” is clever. The paper to be printed is sucked downwards so that it lies flat. Especially with thin media, ripples can be reduced and, above all, a print head rubbing against the paper can be prevented. The Canon imagePROGRAF TA-20 printer has a built-in Wi-Fi antenna so you can easily connect the printer to a wireless network.
