The Canon PIXMA MG5660 is an ink multifunction device for the home. It is intended as an all-rounder that can be used for printing, scanning and copying. Although this printer is quite compact, it has an integrated duplex unit that can be used to print and copy on both sides. The paper tray is designed for a maximum of 100 sheets – not particularly generous. Canon has saved an extra paper compartment for photo media. The control panel lacks a touch function that would have made the operation easier. The results in printing, scanning and copying are convincing. If you don’t need a fax, you’ll be fine with the equipment. The scanner digitizes the originals with somewhat strong red tones but has few problems with depth of field. The Canon PIXMA MG5660 offers USB and WLAN connections. The latter in two versions: as a wireless network connection via a router and for direct coupling to the multifunctional device via WiFi Direct. If the device is connected to the Internet, it can access cloud services such as Dropbox or Evernote without a computer.
